A-Plus Contracting & Poly Welding are a civil construction company. Our services range from environmental management, civil projects through to poly welding and fabrication.

With a professionally maintained, modern fleet of plant and equipment, together with out highly motivated and trained staff, we offer our valued client’s piece of mind, knowing that their works will be completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality, without the worry of downtime or delays.

How long have you been doing business?

We have been in business for 19 years.

How many people work for the business?

We currently have 45 employees, but we are always looking for more people to join our team!

Describe a typical day at ‘The office’.

Kicking off at 6am the team are stacked, packed and ready to get moving on the day ahead. Good mornings, toolbox talks and pre-starts for the people who are out on the job. Then the rest of the day is spent making sure that the highest quality work is completed, with the best outcomes for our clients.

What’s the best thing about the business?

The people – we operate like an extended family. The banter and comradeship we have within our business is what keeps us going.

What are the biggest challenges facing your business?

Like a lot of small to medium businesses it’s ensuring that we are competitive in the market. Also finding the right employees that fit the roles and our culture can be a challenge.

What is the biggest opportunity for your business right now?

Expanding further into the mining and local government industries and ensuring that we are the first name that comes to mind for all things poly welding and civil operations.

What is the business most proud of?

Our humble beginnings a husband and wife with an idea; to 19 years later still family owned and run.

Community or other causes close to its heart and values?

At A-Plus we know that without community support a business will struggle to thrive. Over the year A-Plus has developed strong community ties; sponsoring Singleton Greyhounds, Maitland Pickers, Branxton/Greta Colts and Maitland Blacks, plus events such as the annual A-Plus and Harry Meyn charity golf day. It’s important to us to help wherever we can.

Our whole team from the office to the field! A-Plus wouldn’t be here without the hard work and dedication everyone puts in.
