BMA Mackay Marina Run, Coalface

The BMA Mackay Marina Run has officially launched, with event organisers anticipating a record turnout of over 3,500 participants on June 2.

Celebrating its 16th iteration, this esteemed event is acclaimed for combining athletic endurance with the allure of Queensland’s picturesque landscapes, offering a course that is both fast and flat amidst sub-tropical beauty.

Event Director, Tim Magoffin, expressed his enthusiasm about the run’s evolution into a hallmark event that attracts attention nationwide.

“The BMA Mackay Marina Run stands out by offering runners a distinctive experience through our scenic, efficient course. It’s not just a race, it’s a celebration of fitness, nature, and community spirit.”

In a move to broaden its appeal and reach, the 2024 run is set to welcome international participants, with organisers rolling out free registration to attract runners from abroad.

“Our event’s reputation has surged beyond national borders, marking it as an ideal precursor to the Gold Coast Marathon. This recognition opens new doors for tourism, with a special focus on attracting our neighbours from New Zealand,” explained Tim.

BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), the event’s long-standing naming rights sponsor, reiterated its commitment to the run’s success.
