Australia’s International Mining Week will live up to its name on 21-23 October when more than 500 solution providers fill the International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) at ICC Sydney, including many firms unveiling brand new technologies.

IMARC has become known for the connections made between miners, contractors and suppliers, but its importance as a meeting place is going to a new level in what is being hailed as a technology-led era of productivity, energy and water efficiency, and of course safety in the industry.

“Technology is a precious commodity today in mining, and IMARC 2025 will give visitors, including many operators, a rich sample of what the international tech community currently has to offer,” said Sherene Asnasyous, IMARC event director – content & partnerships.

Mining’s technology universe will descend on IMARC this year, including names such as DXC Technology, Hexagon, IMDEX, Quartex, Schneider Electric, Wabtec Digital Mine, Movus, Epiroc and many more.

Visitors will get vital insights into cutting-edge mine automation and control technologies, vehicle and operator safety systems, drone and satellite surveying platforms, drilling technologies, asset management software and AI and cloud-assisted analytical tools.

Epiroc, an IMARC sponsor, will have a large hardware and software presence at this year’s event. CEO of Epiroc, Helena Hedblom, said significant mining challenges such as declining ore grades, deeper mines and low fleet utilisation rates require innovative and advanced solutions to maintain, or increase, productivity and production.

“By using advanced solutions such as fleet management, automation and connectivity, including data-driven service and monitoring, Epiroc’s mining customers are achieving higher utilisation rates and therefore higher productivity and lower operating costs. They are also relying increasingly on digital solutions to improve “the full mine-flow”, from exploration to loading on ships, to offset lower grades and higher material handling requirements.

“Mining and construction sites are continuously developing. They go deeper and wider every day, and there are many machines and people involved in the process. By having all information on hand, our customers can make better and more informed decisions and make the processes more efficient.”

Eder Griebeler, CEO and founder of first-time IMARC exhibitor, Brazil’s Fast2Mine, said the company has been growing rapidly and is proud to be part of a global movement “shaping a smarter future for mining”.

Fast2Mine has over the past two years moved into “strategic markets such as Australia, the United States, South Africa and Mexico, driving the digitalisation of mining at a global level”.

“Our aim is to create solutions that solve the real challenges of mining in a simple and efficient way,” he said.

“With over a decade of experience we are now recognised as a global leader in the development of MMS platforms that integrate operational data, automation, analytics and mobility to transform the management of open pit and underground mines.”

Showcasing game-changing technology at the centre of mining’s future, IMARC’s Innovation & Investment Alley is a dedicated zone showcasing innovators, startups, research teams and technology developers. It will no doubt be a prime meeting point for investors, miners and venture capital providers.

For the first time, IMARC introduces the Mining Operators Series, created specifically for professionals working at the frontline of mining operations. The series is designed to help on-the-ground workers in mining companies and contract miners elevate their skills, expand their networks and explore the latest advancements in mining technology and operations.

Attendees can earn CPD points, hear technical presentations, participate in exclusive networking events for miners and enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition floor.

Mine site operators and procurement teams from mining companies can take advantage of a free Mining Guest Pass, giving access to the full conference and exhibition. Register now at imarcglobal.com.
