BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) proudly partnered with Moranbah State High School to support their Year 12 students through a two-day career readiness program held on June 19 and 20.
The two-day event brought together a dedicated group of BMA leaders and professionals who volunteered their time to help students build confidence and prepare for life beyond school.
Across both days students participated in group-based problem-solving activities, followed by one-on-one mock interviews designed to simulate real-world recruitment experiences.
BMA representatives observed and provided feedback to students, helping them reflect on their communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills. The sessions also gave students the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights into career pathways in the resources sector.
“It was incredibly rewarding to see the students step-up and take on the challenge,” said Lara Kelly, Superintendent Operational Technology, BMA Caval Ridge Mine.
“They showed great potential, and it was a privilege to help guide them through the process.”
BMA Goonyella Riverside Mine General Manager Vaughn Abrams said BMA is committed to supporting education and workforce development in the communities where BMA operates.
“These kinds of programs are so important, not just for the students, but also for us as leaders to stay connected with the future talent of our region and help strengthen our community ties.”
