Tell us about the business.
Elite Industrial Equipment is a major supplier of mining equipment and consumables for the surface and underground mining industry. We work closely with OEM’s, Suppliers and Customers to provide the highest quality products at extremely competitive prices.
How long have you been doing business?
Elite Industrial Equipment was started in 2010 by Scott Newman and Rod Murphy (R&R Murphy).
How many people work for the business?
We currently employ 10 people in the business.
Describe a typical day at ‘The office’.
Every day is different. We have our core business of consumables for the underground mines and tunnels that are being picked and dispatched on a daily basis, but we also have project work, overhauls, repairs, custom fabrications, ad hoc purchasing, and our flagship product Elite Powered Mirrors so there is always something different happening.
What’s the best thing about the business?
Our never say ‘No’ culture. We all work to achieve whatever our clients require, and we always strive to exceed expectations.
The worst thing?
Nothing really, we all love coming to work and doing our best.
What are the biggest challenges facing your business?
Keeping our supply chain under control. Ever since covid, freight delays are happening all the time.
What is the biggest opportunity for your business right now?
Exporting our Powered Mirrors and importing Sattel Chiles’ range of products are definitely a huge opportunity for our business.
What is the business most proud of?
Our relationships with our customers and suppliers.
Community or other causes close to its heart and values?
We support a number of charities and sporting teams like the Mark Hughes Foundation, Circus Quirkus, Kearsley Crushers and Josh Macdonald Racing. We are also very close to the Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix, which is the only sanctioned motor cycle road race in Australia.

We would like to our give Operations Manager Taneil Shoesmith a shout out. Taneil is at the heart of everything we do and she always goes above and beyond!
