After a successful inaugural Smoke Off event last year, the Royal Federal Hotel are bringing back meat, music and entertainment for Smoke Off 2022.

Last year Head Chef of the Royal Federal Hotel (RFH), Dean Collier had an idea – to host an annual flaming and flavourful event where teams go head-to-head BBQ style to fight for the Smoke Off trophy.

The 2021 launch went off with a bang, and now they’re back this year on May 1 for a mighty event not to be missed.

“Smoke Off is a competition BBQ event that pits the Royal Federal Hotels restaurant ‘The Feddy Kitchen & Smokehouse’ against Smokin Hot ‘n’ Saucy over 3 smoked heats,” said Dean.

Kicking off at 11am, there’ll be loads of entertainment on the day with live music from Outlaw AVE and Matt Scullion, a jumping castle, mechanical bull, face painting and balloons.

On top of entertainment Smoke Off goers can enjoy a sample tray of smoked meats from both teams and a drink from the bar, all included in the ticket price.

“Your ticket will also enter you in the draw to win 1 of 3 awesome prize packages and additional lucky door prizes,” said Dean.

The first place prize winner will take home a Traeger Pro 780 BBQ, BBQ starter pack, brisket and a coveted spot on the judges panel.

Second place will win a Great Northern tackle bag, 7 foot 2 piece rod combo with reel, tackle kit, fishing hat and Wanderer Cooler arm chair and third place will score an esky.

“This year’s Smoke Off is set to be a big one, and in future years we plan to have more teams compete on the first Sunday of May each year at the RFH,” said Dean.
