Huntlee Tavern is more than your average pub, it’s a venue that has been thoughtfully designed for all ages to enjoy.

After driving past Huntlee Tavern on numerous occasions and thinking to myself “wow that looks nice”, I finally decided to drop in for a meal with @ The Coalface Editor Bec, and I’m glad we did.

We stepped inside for a midweek lunch and were greeted by warm, modern furnishings and friendly staff. The venue boasts a huge fireplace, a playground for the kids, an outdoor dining area to soak up the sun, a great bar with loads of cocktail options and a tantalising menu to suit all tastes.

On top of the great atmosphere, there’s also regular live music, trivia nights and Sunday poker. Huntlee Tavern has it all.

Bec and I made our way to the outdoor dining area and ordered our meals using the handy Huntlee Tavern app where you can view the entire menu and check out completely contactless; a welcome addition given the current Covid climate.

We started with the Roasted Pumpkin & Fetta Bruschetta, a flavourful and inviting start to our dining experience.

For our mains I went for the lunch special Caesar Wrap with chips, while Bec went for the Spiced Chickpea and Pumpkin Salad with chickpeas, roasted pumpkin, Middle Eastern spice mix, fetta, spinach, cashews and lemon dressing.

Our meals were beautifully presented, rather than thrown together in a rush like some other busy pubs. To add to the presentation, both dishes were delicious. The wrap was fresh and the chicken cooked flawlessly, and the salad had tasty hearty flavours.

The staff were quick to check in to see how our meals were going, and with mouths full we both gave a double thumbs up. We were stuffed afterwards, but extremely satisfied with the quality of the food.

If you have kids, it’s the ideal venue to sit and enjoy a meal while the kids entertain themselves on the nearby playground. There’re tables just outside the fully enclosed playground window so you can keep an eye on your little ones while the adults have a chat and beverage. The kid’s menu is also sure to be a hit with Nachos, Pizza and Mini Cheeseburgers amongst the menu options.

The thing I love about this pub is there’s something for everyone.

The kids can play, everyone can enjoy a yummy meal and if you’re in the mood for a dance you can head to one of their live music gigs. Stop by for a barista coffee from 7am, drop in for lunch or dinner or visit for a boogie on the weekend – everyone will love their time at Huntlee Tavern.
