R U OK? Day is held every year in September and is an opportunity for everyone to start a conversation with those around them who may be struggling. This year on September 12, our industry got behind R U OK Day, doing everything from presentations and toolbox talks to BBQs and morning teas. Most importantly they asked R U OK?

Stratford

The Stratford Coal team sat down for a session with Dan Hunt from Mental Health Movement talking about the importance of checking in with your own mental health and the mental health of others assists and the development of coping mechanisms.

Mangoola Open Cut celebrated R U OK Day with morning tea, BBQ, and giveaways. The event brought together staff to engage in meaningful conversations about mental well-being and the relaxed setting allowed attendees to connect, share their experiences and offer support to one another.

In recognition of R U OK? Day, Liddell Coal Closure Project ignited the discussion early to remind one another that every day is the day to ask R U OK? The Liddell workforce was empowered to trust their instincts and reach out and act if they notice someone acting differently.

MACH Energy Mount Pleasant Operation recognised R U OK? Day with a talk from Knights Old Boy and BDM at Dreampath Recruitment Kurt Gidley. He gave the workforce simple tips to keep themselves mentally healthy and how to check in on your workmates or loved ones.
