Registrations for the annual Mailrun Charity Bike Ride are now open with this year’s ride held on Sunday April 14.

For over a decade the Mailrun Charity Bike Ride has been raising vital funds for not-for-profit charitable organisation, Singleton Family Support, while also providing a fun event for the whole community to enjoy.

This year the ride begins again at St Catherine’s Catholic School and there are four distances with staggered start times to suit all riding levels – 27km, 45km, 60km and 100km.

All courses go through the picturesque agricultural landscape of the Hunter Valley along lightly trafficked, tarred roads. Food, water and toilet stops will be provided at two points along the course, at Glendonbrook and Glendon Halls.

All entrants will receive a free lunch and drink at the finish area and free entry into the pool at the Singleton Gym & Swim which is around the corner from the finish for a refreshing shower and/or swim after the ride.

All proceeds of the event go to Singleton Family Support who have been supporting families in the area for over 30 years.

By entering the event you can assist them in providing essential services to the community so that all families can receive the support they need in stressful times. Your contribution will directly assist the service to provide parenting education programs, wellbeing programs, inclusive supportive playgroups and information and advocacy for families.

Diana Deaves, Singleton Family Support Project Officer, said the Mailrun is an important fundraiser for the service which allows them to help more people in the community and provide much needed services.

“Our supporters this year include the numerous volunteers that help us each year put on a successful event. Rotary Singleton on Hunter who donate our BBQ, Kevin Martin Signs who creates all the directional signs out on the course, CREST who provides our communications, Madcat Marketing who helps with all our marketing for the event, The Bike Kennel, Cole Air Services and Belgravia Leisure Singleton Swim and Gym. Also, I would like to thank Kate Dreaper who donates her time and expertise to create and maintain our event website.

“We would also like to thank our many sponsors who are Pirtek, Quarry Mining, AC Whalan, Hedweld, Bailey Property and Livestock, Dukes Restaurant and Bar and Taste of the Country.”
