Dirt and All Podcast: E1 – Buddhi Edirisuriya

‘Careers with WesTrac and Chickens on a Plane’

Dirt and All is an exciting new podcast that digs deeper into the relationships and stories that lie beyond the dirt within the mining and construction industries, presented by DGI Trading.

Hosts Ben ‘Woodsy’ Woods (DGI Trading) and Ryan Foster (Ambrosia Marcoms) are on a mission to uncover the best stories, share valuable info and bring you the latest industry from behind their Cat®D11 desk at Dirt and All Studios.

This month on Dirt and All they caught up with Buddhi Edirisuriya from WesTrac to discuss careers in the industry, how machinery sales can take anyone around the world, and sharing a plane with livestock in Siberia.

Starting out with WesTrac working predominantly in the mining sector, Buddhi cut his teeth as a FlexiParts Interpreter, crossing paths with Woodsy and Ryan early in his career.

Having transitioned to equipment sales in the General Construction and Infrastructure (GCI) market, Buddhi is a well-known personality in the industry, particularly the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions where he supports construction customers who have large fleets.

In Episode 1, Buddhi talks about the many inroads into a sales career with WesTrac, which can branch off in many directions and includes completing training at the WesTrac Institute.

As Woodsy and Buddhi will tell you, a career dealing Cat components and equipment can take you to some of the most impressive and remote locations in the world. With that comes things you don’t see everyday, as described by Woodsy, divulging some of his more PG-rated experiences.

Do you know the difference between a ‘Cat Cub’ and what a ‘Yellow Needle’ is? If not, make sure you don’t miss Episode 1.
