The Moura Coal & Country Festival is back on August 18 and 19 and is bigger and better than ever.
The Moura Coal & Country Festival committee is very excited to be able to bring back this this annual event for the beautiful community of Moura.
The event kicks off on Friday night with the official opening of the festival from the committee President and local councilmen, followed by a performance by the Moura School of Ballet. Then it’s time for the action-packed entertainment of the Bulls n Broncs! Plus, there will be a sideshow alley and a ton of market, food and trade stalls, and a bar and music until late.
On Saturday morning at 9:30am the street procession commences the day’s events. This year they have the D’Aguilar Wildlife – a Wildlife Conservation Experience where you can get up close with Australian native animals including koalas, crocodiles and other native birds, mammals and reptiles.
The Memphis Moovers roving entertainment are back again this year with their mini cars and a balloon workshop for all ages. They are also bringing the Hoozats!
There really is something for everyone at the MCCF.
Emergency services display, plenty of free kid’s entertainment including laser skirmish, petting zoo, best dressed dog comp, cattle stud show, side show alley and stalls.
The highly anticipated Tug O’ War, VE Group excavator challenge and the Queensland titles for coal shovelling and roof bolting are also held at the festival. In addition, they are also running amateur competitions during the day too so anyone can have a crack at coal shovelling.
There will be local motorbike freeride in the afternoon followed by the coal shovelling and excavator challenge finals.
Then to finish off a fantastic weekend – fireworks and laser show with live band Side Hustle and bar until late.
