ComponentsONLY is the global leader in the trade of components for heavy earthmoving machinery. We source, sell and market new, used, and rebuilt OEM and aftermarket components for the earthmoving, mining and construction industries. Driven by data, we pride ourselves on going that extra mile to keep you tracking.
How long have you been doing business?
ComponentsONLY was established in November 2014 by our three directors, Ben Hailes, Daniel Fedder and Adrian Vinnicombe, after identifying an opportunity to create an online marketplace for heavy earthmoving components. With our 10th year of trading fast approaching, it is incredible to see how far the business has come since its inception. We have earned a reputation for brokering successful outcomes through problem-solving and collaboration. Today, we are an integral supplier to the leading miners and mining contractors across the globe.
How many people work for the business?
The business is growing rapidly, but we currently have a team of just under 40, with our head office in Milton, Brisbane and branches in Mount Thorley in the Hunter Valley, Welshpool in Perth, and Mackay in North Queensland. We have also expanded our reach beyond Australian shores with representation in South America, Central Asia and South Africa.
What’s the best thing about the business?
What sets ComponentsONLY apart is our global reach, being able to support our customers with a timely supply of components and parts. The availability of components is a constant constraint for miners, and we work with them to provide solutions that increase the continuity of their operations.
What are the biggest challenges facing your business?
Despite the challenges, mining remained active during the pandemic, presenting unique complexities relating to supply with shipping activity constrained and the costs of logistics rising sharply. The market is returning to normality; however, regardless of market conditions, the world is focused on going green, and it’s apparent that if there’s no mining, there are no resources and no net zero. This means that, right now, the market is extremely busy, and we don’t see demand coming off anytime soon. In fact, it’s getting busier.
What is the business most proud of?
ComponentsONLY is committed to ensuring it has the right components at the right time for the right customer. By leveraging component supply chains globally, we focus on the hard-to-find components for a wide range of heavy earthmoving equipment.
Although we supply an exhaustive range of aftermarket components, our focus is on finding and supplying genuine components and ensuring stock is available when our customers need it. To assist in managing the supply chain and what is required at any given moment, ComponentsONLY has a propriety software system called Markets Manager. This inventory and asset management system allows us to track the frame hours and the component history of global mining fleets.
This data provides us with the ability to service our customers with the products they require when they require them.
Community or other causes close to its heart and values?
With multiple locations across Australia, ComponentsONLY actively supports the communities in which it operates. By being involved in large and small causes, the team at ComponentsONLY can give back to the community and participate in events for the greater good.
One cause that is close to the heart of our employees is the Mental Awareness Foundation (MAF). We have sponsored and participated in their Walk for Awareness and Fight for a Cause. MAF’s mission is to support charities working directly with communities implementing strategies to raise awareness of depression and mental illness while supporting the preservation of life.
