Summer holidays on the Gold Coast mean long, sunny days and endless energy from the kids. To channel some of that enthusiasm, we took them to the Gold Coast Aqua Park, a giant inflatable obstacle course floating on the Broadwater. Located right across the road from Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, it was the perfect mix of action, fun and a well-earned break for the adults… well those smart enough to not participate!
We booked the 100-minute session ($40 per person), which gave the kids plenty of time to climb, slide, bounce and splash their way around the course.
From giant jumping pillows to slippery runways and balance beams, the park is designed to challenge agility and endurance, all while having an absolute blast.
As an observer it was entertaining to watch the chaotic fun unfold. Kids (and plenty of adults) attempted the wobbly obstacles, often ending in a spectacular splash into the water. The lifeguards kept a close eye on everything, and with life jackets provided, even the younger ones could get involved safely.
While the kids tackled the course, I took the chance to relax at Barrel Espresso, the park’s on-site café. With great coffee at great prices, it was the perfect place to sit back and watch the action. If you’re someone who prefers to stay dry rather than dive in, this café is a game-changer. The views over the water and park make it a peaceful spot, whether you’re waiting for the kids or just enjoying the waterfront vibe.

Gold Coast Aqua Park is part of Watkins Parks, a vision brought to life by wakeboarding champion Daniel Watkins, who wanted to make water sports more accessible.
The park’s commitment to inclusivity is also worth mentioning. They’ve designed programs for people of all abilities, ensuring that water-based fun is something everyone can enjoy. It’s not just a fun day out; it’s a place where the whole community can come together and experience the thrill of the water.
If you’re looking for a birthday party venue with a difference, the Aqua Park has an undercover VIP party area, making it easy to keep the kids entertained while the adults relax.
After the session, we discovered a little Gold Coast gem, the Maddie and Mike sculpture, just next to the park. The bronze statue of a young girl and her teddy bear, sculpted by John Cox, overlooks the Broadwater. It’s a perfect place to have a picnic and watch the fancy yachts and boats sail past, a nice way to wind down after the non-stop energy of the Aqua Park.

If you’re looking for something active, affordable and fun to do with the kids on the Gold Coast, this is it. Whether you’re jumping in yourself or enjoying a coffee while watching the fun, the Gold Coast Aqua Park delivers a high-energy experience that wears them out, so you don’t have to!
Next time you’re heading to the Goldy, put this one on your list.
