The Isaac Regional Charity Fund has donated $100,000 following the 10th Mayor’s Charity Ball to establish two new university study hubs in Clermont and Moranbah.

Isaac Regional Charity Fund chair, Mayor Kelly Vea Vea, said the donation provides a tremendous boost for the Isaac Country Universities Centre.

“As a funding trust, we wanted to set a strong example for the industry, demonstrating our commitment to social investment.

“I hope this will spark conversations with our local operators about how they can support this opportunity for the Isaac region.”

These study hubs will offer a range of services, including tutoring, counselling, and academic guidance. They will also provide students with a campus-like environment close to home, where they can connect with peers and study together.

Although students will remain enrolled with their main universities, these centres will allow them to access support and a community locally.

The donation would not be possible without the generous support of the event partners, sponsors and 340 guests who attended the 2024 Isaac Regional Charity Fund’s Mayor’s Charity Ball. The event partners were Anglo American, BHP Mitsubishi Alliance, Brown and Bird, Hornery Group of Companies, Isaac Regional Council, King and Company Solicitors, Moranbah Blooms and Events, Thiess, Pembroke and Vitrinite.
