Hats off to CAPS

When the team at CAPS aren’t busy coming up with compressed air and power generation solutions, they’re busy encouraging people to get behind a fundraising campaign to fight cancer.

Compressed Air and Power Solutions (CAPS) are a key supporter of the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for Research, a massive event from October 14 that raises money for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The ride is a two-day, 200-kilometre journey, starting at Optus Stadium in Perth, cycling all the way to Mandurah and back again.

Since its inception in 1998, the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research has made significant discoveries into diseases, in particular heart disease, diabetes and cancer. The funding from the MACA Cancer 200 each year is used to find answers to defeat cancers. This year the focus is on melanoma research.

Melanoma research isn’t just a west coast problem, but a disease that kills hundreds of people all across Australia every year, which is why CAPS has thrown its combined weight behind the fund-raising push.

Because CAPS has strategic offices right around Australia, including in Newcastle, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Mackay, staff and customers from all over are joining in to support the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for Research.

Tony Halls, CAPS CEO and team captain of the CAPS MACA riders said they are delighted to be participating in the MACA200 Ride for Research for their fourth consecutive year.

“As an Australian owned and operated business, it is important to CAPS to give back and support our local communities. Although this event is based in WA, cancer impacts people from all over Australia and all over CAPS.

“This charity event is an important part of our culture at CAPS, and thanks to the dedication of our riders as well as the generosity of our donors, over the past four years we are proud to have raised over $70,000 for a cause that touches us all.”

In addition to their fundraising, CAPS also donates $50 from every compressor and generator sold from August to October 13.
