Merton Living Denman is proud to announce the acquisition of two Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Aspire vehicles, made possible by a generous grant of $70,000 from Glencore Coal.

This purchase will significantly enhance the home care services provided to the 25 elderly residents under Merton Living’s care.

The Glencore Coal Community Investment Program supports initiatives and activities that positively impact the communities in which the mining company operates.

For over a decade, Merton Living has enjoyed a long-standing and supportive partnership with Glencore Coal. This latest contribution reaffirms Glencore Coal’s commitment to supporting local communities and improving the quality of life for residents in Denman.

“We are dedicated to making a positive impact in our local communities. These new vehicles will significantly boost Merton Living’s capacity to provide timely and personalised services to seniors in the area,” said Community Relations Coordinator, Tracey Snedden.

“These cars will enable them to reach more people, ensuring they have access to medical appointments, social activities and essential services. We are proud to support an organisation that fosters independence and connection while addressing the unique needs of the senior community.”

The two Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Aspire vehicles will play a crucial role in Merton Living’s operations. Reliable and accessible transportation is essential for the well-being and independence of elderly residents, and these vehicles will ensure that Merton Living can continue to deliver vital services efficiently.

“We are immensely grateful to Glencore Coal for their continued support and generous donation. These vehicles will make a significant difference in the lives of our residents, ensuring they have access to the care and services they need,” said Shani Mitchell, General Manager at Merton Living.

The announcement of this generous donation and the new vehicles took place at the highly anticipated second Merton Winter Wonderland fundraising event, organised by the Friends of Merton Living. This annual event is dedicated to raising funds for Merton Living, a community-owned not-for-profit organisation committed to providing exceptional care and support to elderly residents in Denman.

The Winter Wonderland event, held at Merton Village in Denman on Saturday 27 July, from 10am-2pm, featured performances by Jake Rattle and Roll, home baked cakes, crafts, potted plants, lucky door prizes and activities for kids. The proceedings included morning tea and lunch for attendees.
