MACH Energy Mount Pleasant Operation and the Aboriginal Community Development Fund (ACDF) will proudly host the fourth Cultural Spectacular celebrating community, connection and culture. The free family event will be held on Saturday 14 September at the Muswellbrook Showground.

The event will transform the showground into a vibrant spectacular of festivities, displaying the richness of Aboriginal culture.

This year’s headline act is the ARIA Award-winning singer and songwriter Dan Sultan. Support acts include indie-pop artist Jem Cassar-Daley, with comedian and emcee Isaac Compton adding to the entertainment.

The Spectacular is a free, family-friendly event, and open to everyone in the community.

It features two stages of performers, including storytellers, dancers, comedians, and singers such as Buddy Knox Blues, Len Waters, Jacob Ridgeway, Katie Jayne, Sharnee Fenwick, Shelley Minson, Terra Firma, Millie Mills, Castlereagh Connection, and didgeridoo virtuoso Ganga Giri.

Attendees can enjoy a variety of free activities such as a chair-o-plane, bungee run, jumping castle, face painting, mermaid hair braids, Sparkles the Clown, Pretty Amazing Jono, Balloon Bloke, and Raptor Reptiles. There will also be an array of cultural activities including boomerang painting and weaving and a great line-up of market stalls.

The ACDF committee invites you to immerse yourself in Aboriginal traditional arts and crafts, music, and as the night sky falls, enjoy fireworks under the stars and a not-to-be-missed spectacular laser show.

A variety of food will be available all day and there will be a free sausage sizzle and free hot soup as the sun sets.

ACDF committee member Fiona Murray said the committee is thrilled to host the Cultural Spectacular in Muswellbrook and bring the community together to celebrate and learn about Aboriginal culture and traditions.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the Hunter community to connect with and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the Wanaruah/Wonnarua people, honouring our heritage and strengthening our social bonds.”

The ACDF aims to support partnerships that address the issues, needs and opportunities of local Upper Hunter Aboriginal communities. The areas of support include health, economic development, cultural and community development and education.

Don’t miss the Cultural Spectacular, Saturday 14 September from 1pm to 9pm at Muswellbrook Showground.

The event is strictly no drugs, no alcohol, no smoking or vaping. For more information, please visit https://culturalspectacular.com.au
