This month the Components Only and @ The Coalface $500 Community Gift goes to Tegan Jones from Dysart Hospital who will be taking to the dance floor in the inaugural Mackay Hospital Foundation, Dancing with Heart event.
Mackay Hospital Foundation (MHF) is well-known for signature events such as the Gardian Family Fun Day, Dinner on the Runway by Ibis Mackay and Giving Day.
This year, the MHF team is very proud to introduce a new event – Dancing with Heart.
On Friday, 31st March, eight local identities will take to the dance floor to showcase their individual dance styles in support of the region’s local hospitals.
Each dancer will work with Dolly Louw from Fame Talent School to fine tune their skills on the dance floor and each dance will be choreographed especially for the individual performer.
As part of this fundraiser, the dancers will raise a minimum of $5,000 each which will be dedicated to the purchase of projects and equipment for local hospitals across the region.
Tegan, who is the Business Manager at Dysart Hospital was put to quick her hand up for the event, as all of the funds and sponsorship she raises will go directly to Dysart Hospital.
“I’m absolutely not a dancer,” said Tegan with a smile. “But I couldn’t say no to participating in such an important event. The funds I raise will go directly to Dysart Hospital and will be used for equipment like a new standing hoist for our low mobility patients and a cot for the bubs, things that will help us improve patient experience.
“The Dysart community is incredibly supportive and I hope they will get behind this event and show how much they care about their local hospital. Come with a friend or buy a table of 10 and bring your work colleagues along and join us for a great night for a great cause.”
Taking part in Dancing with Heart 2023 will be: Michelle Cross (Elders Insurance), Alex Finlayson (Harvey Norman Bedding), Bing Guo (Bing’s Nomiya), Tegan Jones (Dysart Hospital), Renae Kunst (Community Rugby League), Paul Manttan (Mackay West State School), Kay Nyenuh (Muscle Garden) and Cathy Sullivan (Mt Pleasant Centre).
