Every year, mine sites, businesses and local communities pause to tap their workmates on the shoulder and say, “Hey, just checking in, are you okay?”
R U OK? Day is an important reminder that every day is the right day to ask a workmate, friend or family member how they’re really going, especially if they don’t seem like themselves.
This year, we did a whip-around of NSW mining companies and it was clear the message reached far and wide. From workshops to offices to site meetings, the simple act of checking in was front and centre.
