Pink Out 4 Cancer may be one of the Isaac region’s newest charities, but in just over a year it has captured the community’s heart with its bright pink events and unwavering focus on keeping support local.
Founded in 2024, the organisation was born from a simple but powerful idea which Committee President Kimberly Daniels said has guided every decision since the beginning.
“Pink Out 4 Cancer was founded to ensure that every dollar raised for cancer support is used to directly improve the lives of people in our own community. Our focus is on locally raised funds delivering locally created solutions.”
The charity has already grown from its beginnings in Moranbah to set its sights on reaching other regional communities including Burdekin Shire, Charters Towers, Livingstone, Mackay, Rockhampton, Cairns and Townsville.
At the centre of its mission are personalised Cancer Care Packages, designed to ease the daily struggles of those undergoing treatment while reminding them they are not alone.
This year’s fundraising events have underlined the strength of that mission.
The annual Pink Out Golf Tournament at the Moranbah Golf Course raised just under $17,000, more than five times the total of the charity’s first event. The day was full of colour and laughter, with the Best Dressed in Pink competition proving once again to be a crowd favourite.
“It’s a fun and vibrant way to raise awareness and start conversations about cancer. By incorporating play, friendly competition and a sense of celebration, we make it easier for people to connect with a serious cause.”
While October’s highly anticipated Pink Out Charity Extravaganza has been rescheduled to March 2026, the event promises to be bigger than ever.
The night will open with a Barna Barda Welcome to Country, feature an auction of items donated by businesses across the region and showcase entertainment from country music artist Jacynta’Lee and local band JamN Butter. With food and craft stalls, a dedicated space for adult beverages and the much-loved Best Dressed in Pink contest, organisers are even hoping to secure a fireworks finale.

Behind the fun lies a serious challenge: keeping the charity sustainable through volunteers.
Like many grassroots organisations, Pink Out 4 Cancer relies heavily on local people giving their time. Attracting and retaining volunteers is essential to keep their programs running and to achieve their goal of expanding support into more regional towns.
“We are always open to volunteers and looking to grow this area by 30 per cent. Everyone has something to offer, whether it be time, donations or simply sharing our story.”
As the organisation looks to the future, its vision is clear: to make personalised care and support accessible for regional families dealing with cancer. Kimberly believes the strength of the Isaac community will continue to drive that goal forward.
“We are committed to patient support and advocacy through active community engagement and education. Our goal is to develop sustainable programs that ensure the work of Pink Out 4 Cancer and the wider community can make a lasting impact for generations to come.”
