CPR Supplier Insider

Tell us about the business.

CPR Fabrication & Engineering designs and builds high-quality access and workshop solutions enhancing safety and efficiency. In addition to our products, we offer a comprehensive repair, service and component exchange program to minimise client downtime.

We supply solutions across Australia, serving industries including mining, rail, transport, automotive, civil and construction and agriculture.

How long have you been doing business?

CPR Fabrication & Engineering is a division of the CPR Group. While it’s the new kid on the block, having been operating for the past year, CPR was established in 2016.

We’ve been servicing our wonderful clients for the past eight years providing skilled labour hire, heavy plant repairs and maintenance, heavy and light vehicle repairs and much more. Our fabrication business complements our existing services and makes us the complete maintenance solution for our clients.

How many people work for the business?

Our Fabrication business has rapidly grown to 10 staff, while the CPR Group as a whole has over 90 staff members. We’re always on the lookout for talented and passionate people to join our team.

Describe a typical day at ‘the office’.

Being a part of a broader operation, we see a lot of job diversity which keeps us on our toes. One day we could be out on a client site repairing a machine or trailer, the next day could be in the workshop manufacturing specialty safety access platforms or repairing machinery components and after that we could be on site working with clients to come up with custom safety solutions for their site or project. Collaboration and flexibility are the key to our successful daily operations.

What’s the best thing about the business?

Definitely our culture. It’s so important to us that everyone comes together like one big family. From work to community and social events, everyone is supported and a is valuable member of the team. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

What are the biggest challenges facing your business?

Adapting to the rapidly evolving business landscape is the biggest challenge facing not just us but most businesses. Continually developing our systems, processes and technology allows us to remain at the forefront of what we do.

What is the biggest opportunity for your business right now?

Building awareness of our fabrication brand. Being the newest company under the CPR banner, getting the word out about the products, solutions and value we offer. The CPR Group has built a great reputation throughout our local community and surrounds and CPR Fabrication truly has the potential to reach across Australia and abroad with high quality Australian made products.

What is the business most proud of?

Our people, our culture and our quality. We are very lucky to work with wonderfully talented, motivated people, all with a clear goal of achieving the very best in everything they do. That really makes coming to work every day exciting. Having a diverse larger operation, we continually collaborate with our highly experienced tradesmen and staff to ensure the best possible outcome for our clients. Having a team who not only use the end product, but also are a part of the design ensures only the highest quality.

Community or other causes close to its heart and values?

CPR is a passionate supporter of many charities and community events. Just this August four members of the team Alex, Jamie, Josh and Kyle took on the Larapinta trail hike in Alice Springs in support of the Mark Hughes Foundation. Having seen firsthand the wonderful work and support this foundation provides to brain cancer patients, their families and research to find a cure, it is really something CPR likes to get behind. Incredibly, the hike raised over $113,000 which will make a huge impact on so many lives. We are incredibly proud of the team.

Any employees that deserve a shout out?

All our team members deserve a shout out. Our success is the result of a collective effort, involving drafters, boilermakers, mechanics, electricians, trades assistants and administrative staff. Their diverse skills and teamwork make our success possible.
