Peabody Maintenance Planner at Coppabella Moorvale JV Kyle Large has participated in the Annual Postie Bike Safari three times, but this year he has personal motivation to raise money for Childhood Cancer Support.

The organisation provides free short-term and long-term accommodation, fully equipped with everything families need, including food, transport and counselling services. Their mission is to ease the stress and lighten the burden for families across Queensland so they can focus on what matters – their child’s health and wellbeing.

Kyle’s family used the service last year.

“Part of the reason why I didn’t participate in the ride last year was because my little nephew was diagnosed with bone cancer. He’s okay now but Childhood Cancer Support were incredible.

“They provided so much support while he and our family were going through what was one of the hardest but most hopeful moments in the fight for childhood cancer. We experienced firsthand the incredible support that Childhood Cancer Support provides to families just like ours,” Kyle explained.

The Postie Bike Safari sees riders from across Queensland jump on their trusty postie bikes and take on an around 2,000 kilometre adventure from Mackay to Longreach and back in August.

Last year the Postie Bike Safari proudly raised more than $100,000 for Childhood Cancer Support with all the money going towards providing a home away from home for regional families facing the toughest time in their lives.

“Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Your support helps provide comfort, stability, and hope to families navigating the toughest moments of their lives. It means more than you may ever know, to me and to my family and so many others.”
