Over 400 local coal miners will be lacing up their boots for the highly anticipated A Plus Contracting Hunter Valley Mining Charity League Knockout Competition on October 19.
21 men’s teams and 2 women’s teams will be competing for the coveted trophy at Singleton’s Pirtek Park, with plenty of new teams signing up this year eager to take down defending champs, the Bengalla Badgers.
The Narrabri Knights, Ulan Warriors, Myuna Mudcrabs, Mt Pleasant Phoenix, Saddlers Creek Sharks and Mangoola Grizzlies will all be playing for the first time in what is guaranteed to be a day of top notch footy.
But it’s not just a day of good footy and good fun, the real goal is to raise as much money as possible for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Over the years a total of $292,000 has been raised, helping to keep this vital service in the air.
