HOT WHEELS TRANSPORT TOYS

Most of us don’t like spending time in company cars as it means we’re normally out and about on work business. But at Expressway Spares, employees and customers can’t wait to jump into their one of a kind company car.

A few months back, Expressway Spares came up with the creative idea to invest in a company bash car so their team could get out on the road and raise much needed funds for the Variety Club Children’s Charity by participating in the Variety NSW Bash happening later this year.

The car is a 1978 Falcon and with a fresh coat of paint and decals it has become a real head turner when cruising the streets. But with the Variety Bash still months down the track, the team at Expressway Spares’ Hunter Valley Branch put their heads together to come up with other ways they could put the car to good use.

With Christmas approaching they decided to spread some Christmas cheer for children stuck in hospital over the festive season and organised a toy run, transporting the toys to the John Hunter Hospital in the distinctive vehicle.

“The team worked with the Starlight Foundation in regard to toy requirements and organising a drop off day on December 12, and then they distributed to the various hospitals within the Hunter region,” said Expressway Spares Operations Manager Rob Baker.

“Support was fantastic with business like Bowers Heavy Haulage, Mt Thorley Smash Repairs & Holzy’s Tinting getting in on the act and providing much needed funds or toys for thestockpile which just kept growing. We are so proud of our staff and local businesses for their generosity to make sick children in hospital have a brighter Christmas.”
