The Bloomfield Group’s Relay for Life team, the “Bloomfield Canaries” raised a phenomenal $21,806 for Cancer Council NSW at the recent Maitland Relay for Life.
In addition to their outstanding fundraising effort, the Bloomfield Group was also a sponsor of the Maitland Relay for Life which assisted the Cancer Council to offset the costs of running it. Which means more money goes to the people who need it.
Bloomfield Chairman, John Richards read the “Relay Oath” as part of the Opening Ceremony before participants began their countless laps around Lorn Park.
Among those were the Bloomfield team of 12 who carried the bright yellow team “Canary” baton throughout the entire Relay. The team was supported by colleagues, family, and friends.
Chairman of the Bloomfield Group John Richards said: “Congratulations to Cancer Council NSW for a great day of family fun and fundraising. Relay for Life is a wonderful community initiative and we are very proud to be able to provide support. A huge thank you to all who helped the Bloomfield Group’s Relay for Life team raise these funds.”
The funds raised will be used locally by the Cancer Council NSW Singleton Office to help cancer sufferers, survivors, and carers in our local region.
Community Programs Coordinator, Glen Parsons said, “For over a decade The Bloomfield Group have been active supporters of not only the Cancer Council but particularly Maitland Relay For Life. As an organisation that is over 95% community funded, we are very grateful to community supporters like Bloomfield who help us deliver our vital services for people affected by cancer in the Hunter.”
