From new businesses to new constructions to new projects, there’s a lot going on in the North West region.
It’s great to see new businesses coming to the region and providing vital services for the coal mining industry. With CS Health opening a new premises in Gunnedah, coal miners can rest easy knowing their health needs will be looked after. And in the unfortunate incidence where something does go wrong, Shaw & Bunner Legal are bringing their expertise in personal injury law to town.
Gunnedah saw a huge range of projects completed through Council’s Community Resilience Program. The program saw facility upgrades, support for sporting associations, and culturally targeted projects. It helped to strengthen the Shire during challenging times and was such a success that it won the Local Government award in the NSW Resilient Australia Awards.
Narrabri is also investing in the future. Construction has begun on a state of the art new animal facility and Council has also secured $2.3 million funding to replace the Tullamullen Creek Bridge, completing a successful program of timber bridge replacements across the Shire.
The North West region has certainly been through some tough times with the pandemic, flooding and mouse plagues. This edition we caught up with Letitia Cross, a coordinator from the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program to remind you that if you are struggling, help is only a phone call away.
Winter is finally over! Spring is the time to get back outdoors so why not head out on a camping trip to experience the beauty of the North West. We have lots of cool camping gadgets in our Good Stuff this edition. Ok we admit most of them might not actually be helpful on a camping trip, but they will guarantee some good laughs.
So get on your gumboots and get out there!
