Put a Spring in Your Step
Spring is finally here and where better to come out of hibernation and enjoy the beautiful outdoors than sunny Queensland.
If there’s one thing we’ve learnt about Queensland, is that it’s a truly amazing place. Whether we’re visiting a community, mine site, meeting up with a local supplier or out on the roads delivering our magazine, wherever we go we discover something new that makes us fall a little more in love with this amazing State.
But there’s one thing that is always the number one highlight of wherever we go – the hardworking and inspiring people we meet. Like Andy Brunker, miner turned butcher whose story we share this month.
True community spirit was on show in Collinsville at the Glencore Collinsville’s Charity Golf Day. We were proud to be a part of a day with a purpose to help drive this wonderful town forward.
We also joined nearly 1000 industry professionals at the Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference (QMIHSC) on the Gold Coast. Industry came together with one focus – promoting and sharing initiatives all aimed at making sure every worker comes home safe.
Of course, we couldn’t resist hitting the beach while we were there. Queensland has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it inspired us to feature some cool toys and gadgets in our Good Stuff this month that might come in handy the next time you hit the sand. Or for those of you inland, they’ll work just as well at the lake or even your backyard pool.
