For over 29 years the Queensland Mining & Engineering Expo (QME) has been at the heart of the mining sector in Mackay, and this year returns to the Mackay Showgrounds from 19 to 21 July 2022.

QME 2022 will be the ultimate showcase of supplier innovation and excellence and will illustrate the world class capabilities of Mackay and the broader Central Queensland region.

The event promises to be a true celebration of the sector with over 280 leading suppliers, numerous networking opportunities and a free-to-attend seminar series. Attendees can expect a world class program in the seminar series, featuring industry experts across exponential technology, maintenance, electrification, as well as the role of supporting services like waste management and renewable energy in mining.

Since launching the floorplan in August, industry demand for QME has been unprecedented with supplier heavyweights Hastings Deering, Komatsu, Flexco, Atom Supply, ABB, Austdac and DT Hiload confirming their presence at the event. With more companies securing their stands, QME is already sitting at 75% sold and demand will exceed the availability much earlier than ever before.

QME Event Director Samantha Martin acknowledges the importance and excitement surrounding QME 2022.

“QME has developed a truly symbiotic relationship with Mackay and the Queensland mining industry, and we are truly excited to bring the industry face-to-face following two years of disrupted connections,” Ms Martin said.

“Not only have major suppliers secured their participation much earlier than in previous editions, but we have seen peak bodies, government department, associations and mining companies including Bravus, BHP, Glencore and Whitehaven Coal confirm their support which illustrates the vital role QME plays in bringing the industry together.”

Queensland Resources Council (QRC) Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane said QME was terrific at showcasing the work of the resources industry as well as the talented people who work across a diverse range of commodities.

“The mining sector will play a critical role in the Australian economy, as technology accelerates collaboration across industry and sectors is more important than ever,” said Mr Macfarlane.

“QME provides an integral opportunity to discover and connect; QRC have been a long-time supporter of QME and we can’t wait for the event in July.”

QME 2022 will be the must-attend event in the industry’s calendar. In conjunction with QME, the 2022 Queensland Mining Awards, which are proudly presented by the Bowen Basin Mining Club (BBMC) and in partnership with the Queensland Resources Council, will be held on Wednesday, 20 July at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre. QME has been a proud supporter of this gala dinner event celebrating the innovation, excellence and collaboration within the sector.
