It’s time again to put your mark on the ballot paper and help decide the future of the Hunter – and Australia.
These days it seems that no sooner have we voted in one election, then another is rolling around. Turn on the TV and there’s a politician talking, drive around town and their faces are staring at you from all the lawn signs. Maybe you’ve even bumped elbows with a few as they’re out on their campaign rounds.
But who are these people fighting to represent us? And what do they really stand for? To help you make your decision we invited all 9 of the Hunter’s candidates to tell us why you should vote for them in our Meet the Candidate feature.
After all that politics we had to take a break this month and there was no better way to do that than cruising around the lake for a few days on one of Lake Macquarie Houseboat’s quality vessels. Fishing, beers, BBQs, friends. What more could you ask for?
A super fun event to go to with the family? You got it. This month we bring you a couple of great events coming up that you won’t want to miss. MACH Energy Mount Pleasant Operation’s annual Cultural Spectacular is back on May 21, and everyone is welcome to attend this celebration of family, friends, culture and connection.
Muswellbrook Coal Mine will be hosting a Community Day on Saturday May 28. Set to close later this year after a momentous 115 years contributing to the Muswellbrook community, the day will showcase their proud history, plus there will be plenty of fun activities for everyone to enjoy.
So go have some fun!
