North West Summer 2021

What a year 2021 has been. We’ve been challenged by the pandemic, drought and now floods, but we’ve done it together. As we lead into Christmas and the New Year, we’d like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support.

We’ve all been through a lot in the past 12 months, so for our last issue for 2021 we’re proud to share the good news stories that unite our industry and community in these tough times.

We share Whitehaven’s planting of over 300,000 trees across their Maules Creek biodiversity offset properties in a bid to protect threatened species of flora and fauna. This is just one part of Whitehaven’s extensive program in ensuring the long term environmental sustainability of our regional wildlife and landscapes.

The recent floods have had a major impact on jobs and homes in the North West, but our close knit community continues to show resilience and a spirit that proves our region can get through anything together. We had a chat with some locals about the impact of the floods and how they’ve stayed connected to their community as rainfall continues.

One thing we’ve seen this year is a huge effort made by local businesses and industry to support their employees, and Mannion Drilling have gone above and beyond in making that happen for their staff. From award nominations to long service celebrations, employees are made to feel like family at Mannion Drilling. We’re delighted to share these great team achievements.

From everyone here @ The Coalface, we wish you an amazing Christmas and a happy New Year. Stay safe and we can’t wait to see you in 2022.
