Mt Arthur Coal has launched a brand new Women in Mining Program in partnership with Chandler Macleod with the first round of trainees recently joining the Mt Arthur Coal team.

This new program is one of the Mt Arthur Coal Production team’s key diversity initiatives and is already proving to be an exciting way to bring new recruits into BHP and the industry.

Ten new to industry trainees were chosen from a very impressive cohort of applications. The group started at Mt Arthur Coal on April 26 after completing their inductions. A second intake of another 10 roles will be recruited in June.

The trainees come from all walks of life and the program not only provides an opportunity to increase gender diversity in the workplace, but also an opportunity for people to join the industry from a range of backgrounds and with no prior experience.
