An off night with the boot by Chad Townsend cost Cronulla any hope of victory against Canberra as their goal-kicking woes came back to haunt them on Sunday night at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. 
Townsend missed three attempts including two in the final minutes as Cronulla sunk to a 12-10 loss after fighting back from a 12-0 deficit and lack of possession in the first half.
