‘Purely frightening’: Truck driver killed in crash near Victoria-SA border checkpoint – The Age

The South Australian Police Commissioner has defended his force after reports of unsafe conditions at a checkpoint on the Victorian border where a driver was killed…

He said South Australian police officers were manning the checkpoint on the Western Highway at Serviceton, just a few kilometres from the border when the collision occurred.
The driver of the first truck died at the scene and has yet to be formally identified. Two other truck drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries, according to Mr Stevens.
Callers to talkback radio reported massive lines, unsafe conditions and too few police officers running the checkpoint overnight Wednesday.
