Police have arrested at least one apparent counter-protester during Melbourne’s largely peaceful Invasion Day march, which saw thousands of people walk through the CBD.
- A man draped in an Australian flag was arrested near the march’s end at Flinders Street Station
- Speakers at the event called for more recognition of Indigenous history and an end to black deaths in custody
- There were more subdued Australia Day celebrations this year due to the coronavirus pandemic
