NSW braces for ‘perfect storm’ of heat, swell and cabin fever – The Australian Financial Review

Authorities are expecting a “perfect storm” at NSW’s beaches on Tuesday as most of the south-east of Australia escapes a weekend-long heatwave.

Beaches are expected to be packed and people are urged to check capacity limits and swim at attended beaches.
It will also be the perfect storm, NSW Surf Life Saving chief executive Steven Pearce said.
We will have elevated temperatures, weve got some really solid swell.
It is Australia Day. People have been pent up because of COVID, they want to get out.
Five people have drowned in NSW in the past seven days and Mr Pearce warned on average at least one person drowned on Australia Day each year.
