The local share market has kicked off its shortened trading week, ahead of Australia Day, with slight gains.
By 11:40am AEDT, the benchmark ASX 200 had lifted (+0.2pc) to 6,815 points, while the All Ordinaries index was up by a similar margin to 7,098.
Both indices were trading near an 11-month high, around where they were at the very early stages of the coronavirus sell-off.
This was despite a slew of of downbeat pandemic headlines in recent days, which overseas markets were unable to ignore.
