Woman arrested over death of South Coogee grandfather – Sydney Morning Herald
Officers discovered Peter McCarthy, 77, dead with severe facial and head injuries during a welfare check on December 20.
A search warrant was then executed. The woman has been taken to Maroubra police station where charges are expected to be laid.
“This is a heartless crime, Mr McCathy was a vulnerable and defenceless elderly man,” homicide squad commander Danny Doherty said in December.
At the time, Mr McCarthy’s son James said in a statement that his family was devastated and still coming to terms with the loss of their father and grandfather.
