Around 500 guests was the initial estimate according to officers who attended. On Monday, NSW Police Acting Commissioner Mal Lanyon said there may have been up to 700.
Under the rules on capacity in place on Saturday, the Imperial Paradiso was allowed to have about half that number.
According to its website, the facility can ordinarily accommodate up to 1100 people.
From Sunday, under the updated public health order, weddings are limited to 100 guests and the 4 square metre rule.
