New completion date for multibillion-dollar Beaches Link revealed – Sydney Morning Herald

The multibillion-dollar Beaches Link motorway tunnel is likely to be completed by 2028, according to NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance.



The leaked documents in 2017 put the cost of building the two motorway tunnels at $14 billion, almost as much as the 33-kilometre WestConnex toll road project.
The seven-kilometre Beaches Link will extend from the Warringah Freeway at Cammeray to Balgowlah and Seaforth in the city’s north-east, burrowing as deep as 108 metres. The tunnels will be three lanes in both directions.
