Paramedics reported a 70 per cent rise in Victorians experiencing breathing difficulty on Wednesday night amid strong winds and a high pollen count.
Barwon Health also received a number of presentations from patients experiencing mild respiratory symptoms.
The increase in call-outs followed warnings from medical professionals about the dangers of thunderstorm asthma.
But despite the warning an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the epidemic thunderstorm asthma event did not eventuate.
