‘Bloody far’: Taking the challenge of seeing every street in a 5km radius – The Age

Five kilometres doesn’t seem like much. But, as Ben Loke found out, there’s close to 1400 kilometres in travelling that can be done close to home.

Ben mostly used his bike, although he also ran and walked some of the route to change things up.
“I thought ‘Let’s try and cover all the streets in my five k’s’, not realising how bloody far it was,” he said.
“I didn’t think it would be that much. But then you add up all the streets it became apparent quite quickly how long it was going to take.”
Since the beginning of August, the state government has ordered Melburnians to stay within five kilometres of their homes at all times.
