Gravity of winning streak beginning to sink in for Australians – Sydney Morning Herald

Rachael Haynes and the Australians have played a straight bat to talk of ‘the streak’. Now they are starting to appreciate their run of success.



It says something about the mentality of Australia’s women’s cricket team that defeat at the hands of India in the 2017 World Cup caused them to not only challenge each other but push the very boundaries of what was possible in the game.
The semi-final loss in the tournament in England, won by the host nation, was the starting point of the record-equalling 21-game winning streak. The end could still be some distance away given the dominance, depth and quality of the limited-overs squad.
