Man charged with attack on police found dead in prison cell – Sydney Morning Herald

Frederick Fadi Elrezz had been in custody since September 2, when he allegedly attacked a group of three police officers in Sydney’s CBD, slashing one in the head and shoulder with a knife.



“All deaths in custody are subject to a coronial inquest.”
Mr Elrezz’s lawyer Oussama Elfawal said his client’s death was a “terrible tragedy” and his condolences were with Mr Elrezz’s family and friends.
A spokesperson for NSW Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a brief will be prepared for the coroner.
