Sydney to go ahead with smaller NYE fireworks, 9pm celebration scrapped – Sydney Morning Herald

“[Mr Ayres] has assured me that the government will take full responsibility for the preparation and funding for the fireworks and crowd management, safety, traffic and transport, and is prepared to cancel the event if there is a spike in COVID-19 cases.”
The show will most likely be a shortened fireworks display focused on the Harbour Bridge at midnight, with the children’s 9pm fireworks scrapped.
