COVID-19 transmission drops for first time in months as more aged care deaths loom – Sydney Morning Herald

Coronavirus transmission rates in Victoria have dropped to the lowest point since June, and the state’s seven-day average for new cases has dipped below 200 for the first time in more than a month.



That’s a significant drop from a reproductive factor of 3, which Victoria reached according to her calculations when daily cases were at their peak in early August.
“If we keep this up we might get back to double-digit figures soon,” she said.
The 0.5 reproductive factor value was a target, “but that is probably unlikely to stay as it will be hard to suppress the last cases,” Professor Bennett said.
