Joe Biden accepts Democratic Party nomination – Sydney Morning Herald

The former vice-president has accepted the Democratic presidential nomination, saying his priority if elected president will be getting the coronavirus pandemic under control, including by introducing a national mask mandate.

Biden, 77, served as vice-president for eight years under Barack Obama after serving for 36 years in the US Senate.
He unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic Party’s nomination in 1988 and 2008, only winning his first primary at the South Carolina contest this year.
“This is a life changing election,” Biden said of his contest against Donald Trump.
