A schizophrenic man who bludgeoned Melbourne woman Courtney Herron to death with a branch for almost an hour has been found not guilty of her murder because he believed she was a spirit who wanted to hurt him. Henry Richard Hammond was found not guilty of the murder of the 25-year-old because he was in the grip of a schizophrenic delusion when he beat her to death in May 2019, the Victorian Supreme Court heard on Monday.
