We believe New Zealand can eliminate COVID-19 again. But it could do more to speed up that process with mandatory masks and tighter controls on high-risk venues, including bars, gyms and churches.

As New Zealand enters its second day at heightened alert levels to contain a community outbreak of COVID-19, we expect it should only be a temporary setback.
Four cases with no direct links to border or quarantine facilities were confirmed late on Tuesday. On Thursday it was announced there were 13 new cases linked to those four people meaning there are now 17 active community cases in New Zealand.
