Tamil asylum seeker mother flown back to Christmas Island without notice, supporters say – Sydney Morning Herald

Priya, the Tamil mother of an asylum seeker family fighting deportation to Sri Lanka, was taken by Border Force guards from a Perth hospital on Wednesday.

Priya was expecting to be discharged from hospital on Wednesday and rest at a hotel for two days, before being flown back to Christmas Island on Friday, friends said.
But about 2pm AEST (midday Perth time) she was approached by Border Force guards and taken to the airport.
Her Melbourne-based lawyer, Carina Ford, was informed by the government only at 4.35pm AEST, hours after asking where her client was.
