Victorian government restricts access to asymptomatic testing – Sydney Morning Herald

Health officials have restricted asymptomatic COVID-19 testing to people instructed to get a test by contact tracers, despite the system being plagued by delays.



Residents of high-rise public housing towers in Melbourne can be tested at the doctor’s discretion, the guidelines say, along with people in “exceptional circumstances … where is it deemed to be in the interests of the persons mental and physical welfare or the safety of the testing site.”
Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Friday that the Victorian government, along with other states and territories, must now provide clear data to the national cabinet about its contact tracing system…
